Helmut Essl, geb. 1955, wuchs in Reutlingen auf und studierte Germanistik und Politikwissenschaft in Tübingen. Nach dem Referendariat Aufbaustudium an der Wirtschaftsakademie für Lehrer Bad Harzburg. Er arbeitete als Korrektor, Kolumnist, Lehrer und Pressereferent und lebt seit 2019 im Ruhestand in Tübingen. Von ihm liegt bereits vor: "Chronik einer Männersause und 50 weitere Ratzfatzgeschichten von A bis Z".
