Der erste Teil des Buches enthält vorwiegend Landschaftsgedichte und Gedankenlyrik (u. a. auch Reflexionen über 'Die fünf Beleidigungen der Menschheit'). Der zweite Teil besteht aus Gedichten auf der Grundlage von Fabeln (von Aesop bis Rudolf Kirsten). Humoresken und Witzeleien sind im dritten Teil in Metrik und Reim gesetzt und bilden den Ausklang.
