Thomas Michels wurde am 12 4.1942 in Essen geboren.Er wuchs zunächst auf dem Dorf in Heepen bei Bielefeld auf und besuchte dann die Schule und das Gymnasium in Essen. Erst mit dem Abitur und Beginn des Medizinstudiums entdeckte er die Neigung zur Lyrik.
