Der Hund weiß nicht, dass man ihn Kampfhund schimpft - aber dennoch bestimmt dieses Stigma sein ganzes Leben und das seiner Besitzer. Die Autorin möchte zeigen, dass man jede Rasse aggressiv machen kann, aber kein Hund aggressiv auf die Welt kommt. Ike war das beste Beispiel dafür: er liebte Mensch und Tier und lebte sein Leben in freundlicher, friedlicher Naivität.

W. Lenzke lebt mit Mann und Hund(en) in Düsseldorf und arbeitet in einer Werkstatt für behinderte Menschen. Ehrenamtlich ist sie im Tierschutz tätig, u.a. als Tierschutzlehrerin.
