Complete and unabridged, with 55 full-page plates by Edvard Munch, Philips Wouwerman and Peter Snayers. Montrose's Highland campaign of 1644, a soldier of fortune back from the German wars who reckons everything in wages, and a feud between two clans that the war is merely an occasion for. Dugald Dalgetty is Scott's best comic creation and knows exactly what he is worth per month. This edition binds 55 plates after painters including Peter Snayers, Philips Wouwerman and Pieter Meulener, alongside four illustrations restored and coloured for this printing.
