Complete and unabridged, with 60 full-page plates by Lawrence Alma-Tadema, Laura Theresa Alma-Tadema and Walter Sickert. An ancient Egyptian thing that can take any shape arrives in London to revenge itself on a member of parliament, and four narrators tell what they saw. Marsh published it in the same year as Dracula and at first it outsold Stoker's book. This edition binds sixty plates of night-time painting with the novel, among them John Atkinson Grimshaw, Walter Sickert and Petrus van Schendel.
