Complete and unabridged, with 58 full-page plates by Worthington Whittredge, Winslow Homer and Asher Brown Durand. Early stories, reviews and essays by Cather before the Nebraska novels - the Pittsburgh journalism, the pieces on Housman and on Nebraska itself. This edition adds 58 plates of painting bound with the text, among them works by Winslow Homer, Everett Shinn and John Frederick Kensett.
