Complete and unabridged, with 56 full-page plates by Edvard Munch, Ivan Aivazovsky and J. M. W. Turner. More tales told by the itinerant story-teller Kai Lung, who talks his way out of execution by keeping his listener interested. Bramah's mock-Chinese courtesy is a sustained comic invention; Hilaire Belloc wrote the preface, and his admiration was genuine. This edition includes 56 plates of moonlight painting bound with the text, among them works by Edvard Munch, Ivan Aivazovsky and George Cattermole.
