Complete and unabridged. Tip runs away from the witch who raised him, taking along a pumpkin-headed man he built and brought to life, and walks into a revolution: the Emerald City has been seized by an army of girls with knitting needles. Baum wrote it because a thousand children wrote to ask for more of the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman, and he says so in the preface. The turn it ends on is one no children's book of 1904 was supposed to make, and it is startling still. Its 116 original illustrations have been carefully restored and coloured for this edition.
