Complete and unabridged, with 57 full-page plates by William Marlow, Thomas Beach and Lemuel Francis Abbott. Highland belief recorded by a parish minister in Gaelic-speaking Tiree and Coll - the second sight, the water-horse, the changeling, the charms said over cattle. Campbell took it down from people who still practiced it and did not live to see this collection in print. This edition is bound with 57 plates of paintings from 1760–1811, including works by Francis Sartorius, Thomas Gooch and Ozias Humphry, and carries the original preface and index.
