Complete and unabridged, with 60 full-page plates by William Sadler, William Gibbes Mackenzie and William Ashford. The coming of the gods, the battles of Moytura, Finn, Oisin and the end of it, told as one continuous story rather than a scholar's collection. Lady Gregory made her own English out of the speech of the Galway cottagers, and Yeats wrote the preface for it. This edition is bound with a gallery of sixty plates, among them paintings by John Duncan, George Petrie and William Sadler, ranging in date from 1771 to 1928.
