Complete and unabridged, with 57 full-page plates by Robert Henri, George Bellows and Childe Hassam. Stories written for the magazines in the years around Anne of Green Gables - Prince Edward Island courtships, orphans, quarrels made up at the last minute. Montgomery kept writing for the magazines long after Anne made her famous, and the craft is the same as in the novels. This edition is bound with 57 plates of paintings by Edvard Munch, George Bellows, Maurice Prendergast and Childe Hassam, dating from 1869 to 1927.
