Complete and unabridged. The fourth of Lang's coloured fairy books, drawing on Andersen, the Russians, the Icelanders and the Red Indians: the tinder-box, the emperor's new clothes, the nightingale, the dragon of the north, six sillies and a princess made of ice. Lang's rule was that the tales be told plainly and left alone, without the moralising the age loved. The Yellow is the collection where the northern stories come in and the temperature drops. Its 80 original illustrations have been carefully restored and coloured for this edition.
