Complete and unabridged, with 44 full-page plates by Michele Marieschi, Philip James de Loutherbourg and Luca Carlevarijs. The man who mocked Christ on the way to Calvary and was condemned to walk the earth until the second coming, seen through the fall of Jerusalem and the reigns that followed. Croly was a Dublin clergyman and made the wandering Jew a witness to history rather than a curse in a folk tale. This edition binds 44 plates after David Roberts, Bernardo Bellotto and Peter La Cave, among others, alongside 16 illustrations restored and coloured for this volume.
